Project Context & Objectives
MPE Staffordshire is a regional recruitment agency specializing in matching skilled workers (industrial, clerical, and technical roles) with employers across Staffordshire and the West Midlands. The client’s goals were to:

  1. Present live job vacancies in an intuitive, searchable format.
  2. Enable candidates to apply directly online and track their applications.
  3. Provide employers with a streamlined way to post new openings and review applicants.
  4. Lay the groundwork for strong local SEO to attract both active jobseekers and hiring managers.

Approach & Technology
Built on WordPress with Elementor Pro for flexible, modular layouts and WP Job Manager (or a similar job‑board plugin) for core listing functionality. Key technical elements included:

  • Custom Post Types & Taxonomies: Created a “Job” CPT with filters for Location, Industry, and Employment Type (Permanent, Contract, Temporary), displayed via faceted, live‑update search powered by Search & Filter Pro.
  • Candidate & Employer Dashboards: Role‑based front‑end dashboards allowing candidates to upload CVs, manage profiles, and track applications, and employers to post vacancies and shortlist candidates.
  • Application Workflow: Integrated application forms with file uploads, email notifications, and optional one‑click LinkedIn apply.
  • Performance Optimization: WP Rocket caching, asset minification, WebP image conversion, and lazy loading to ensure sub‑2 s page loads on listing and detail pages.
  • SEO Foundations: Yoast SEO for optimized metadata, JobPosting schema for rich snippets, semantic headings, and localized URL slugs (e.g., /jobs/warehouse-staff-staffordshire).

Standout Functionality & UX Highlights

  • Advanced Job Filters: Off‑canvas filter panel lets users refine by role, location, salary range, and shift type—boosting findability.
  • Saved Searches & Alerts: Candidates can bookmark searches and opt‑in for email alerts when new matching roles are posted.
  • Employer Promotional Tools: Featured listings and “Urgent Hire” badges increase vacancy visibility for priority positions.
  • Resource Hub: Styled blog section offers career advice and CV tips, supporting authority and long‑tail SEO.
  • Mobile‑First Design: Thumb‑friendly navigation, persistent “Apply Now” CTA, and optimized job cards ensure seamless mobile experiences.

Results & Impact

  • Improved Engagement: Fast load times and intuitive filters increased average session duration by 35% and reduced bounce on job pages.
  • Higher Application Rates: Streamlined application workflows and saved‑search alerts delivered a 30% uplift in completed applications.
  • Local SEO Growth: Structured listings and schema markup positioned MPE Staffordshire in the top 3 for key searches like “industrial jobs Staffordshire” and “temporary staffing Stafford.”
